Education
With an emphasis on higher education, and the need to keep up with increasingly competitive global market, Mexicali boasts six universities and twelve technical trade schools. This is due to an ever-increasing demand for skilled labor in the city. There is also a pressing need for more trained mechanical and electrical engineers to meet the growing technological demands due to increased industrialization of the city; this is why Mexicali has some of Mexico’s finest universities.
In order to keep up with all the educational demands in the region, Mexicali Industrial Park, PIMSA, has compromised itself to give a yearly $100,000 donation to CETYS Universidad, one of the finest universities in Mexicali. Workforce
Founded in 1903, Mexicali is recognized as a community, which embraces people from all over the world who are in search of a better life.
A study recently made atop management levels shows that the workforce in Mexicali more than meets the requirements of world class organizations. Our people are considered:
- * Creative problem solvers at work
- * Open to change and challenges
- * Manifest a high level of commitment
- * Proficiency and loyalty toward their company and work groups
A distinctive characteristic of Mexicali people is their good mood and service attitude.
In Baja California, the minimum daily wage currently is about 4.5 dollars a day, and though it may be higher than some other states in Mexico, the workforce in the northern part of the country is better qualified and educated.
